A tribute to the Broken Heart
When was the last time some one broke your heart?
Broken Hearts always hurt, and even if people tell you that time will heal everything, a broken heart never heals.
"It’s Just Science: Broken Heart Syndrome Is Real
When you said you were dying of a broken heart you were probably just being dramatic, but science says otherwise. “Broken heart syndrome,” also known as stress cardiomyopathy, has recently been recognized by the medical community as an actual condition which mimics a heart attack, preventing the heart from pumping blood to the rest of the body.
Okay so dying of a broken heart may be a slight exaggeration in that the patient usually recovers with no long-term cardic damage, but it’s still serious according to researchers at Northeastern.
The syndrome occurs when adrenaline overwhelms the heart in response to stressors, like grief, fear, extreme anger or surprise."
